Originally created during the Victorian era, Robinson’s manuscript combines watercolor studies of flowers with illuminated calligraphy, poetry, and the symbolism of the Victorian language of flowers. 

The volume features beautifully illustrated floral plates highlighting camellias, rhododendrons, lilies of the valley, roses, sweet peas, primroses, daffodils, narcissi, anemones, bluebells, and many other beloved garden flowers. Each plate is accompanied by historical commentary exploring botanical history, Victorian floral symbolism, and selections from period poetry, making the book both visually captivating and historically engaging.

Bound in cream buckram cloth with gilt spine titling. Floral decorated endpapers.

A beautiful copy with clean cream buckram cloth boards, bright gilt spine lettering. The original dust jacket is also in Near Fine condition. The interior is crisp and clean.
