A handsome Victorian edition of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s poetry, published in London by Frederick Warne & Co. in 1890 as part of the “Lansdowne” Poets series. The volume includes explanatory notes, a portrait frontispiece, and full-page illustrations. A fine red rule frames the text throughout, adding a distinctive detail to the pages.

The publisher’s red cloth binding features decorative black and gilt designs on the front board and spine, a blind-stamped rear board, beveled cover edges, and gilt page edges. A previous owner’s presentation inscription, dated April 10, 1891, appears on the front endpaper.

Some toning with scattered foxing primarily to the preliminary leaves. 664pp.
