Bound in dark green cloth with an elaborately gilt-decorated leather spine label and marbled page edges. The interior includes numerous full-page hand-colored botanical plates depicting flowers, fruits, and plants in a vibrant color along with ornamental typographic borders and finely printed text throughout.
Examples of botanical subjects illustrated within include camellias, cyclamen, lupines, peonies, violets, nectarines, pears, and numerous ornamental flowering plants cultivated in Great Britain. Binding remains tight and sound. Numerous full-page hand-colored botanical plates throughout. Marbled page edges and marbled endpapers present with previous owner bookplate. Light scattered foxing at prelims. Stain/discoloration to the front board with rubbing and wear along edges, corners, and spine extremities. Some rubbing to the spine ends and board edges. Overall a very good antiquarian copy with strong visual appeal.
