A beautifully bound 1877 edition of Our Summer Migrants by noted English ornithologist J. E. Harting, a Victorian work devoted to migratory birds of the British Isles. This Second Edition was published in London by Bickers & Son and features numerous illustrations after designs by the celebrated engraver Thomas Bewick.

Full dark green leather binding decorated in gilt with ornamented spine and red leather title label. The front board bears the gilt crest of Durham School along with a prize-binding presentation. Marbled endpapers and marbled page edges. Dentelle detailing. Binding tight. Clean pages. 336pp.
