Wood is a richly illustrated Victorian volume featuring striking hand-colored plates and detailed engravings. This edition, published by George Routledge and Sons (London & New York), includes observations on shells, marine birds, seaweed, anemones, and more.


Undated, c. 1860s–1870s. Publisher’s original royal blue cloth with elaborate gilt decoration to spine and cover. All edges gilt. Illustrated with vivid full-page hand-colored plates (after Sowerby), and numerous in-text engravings. Binding sound; some light rubbing to head and tail of spine. Pages clean with mild foxing primarily at prelims.
