Beautifully bound in rich royal blue cloth with elaborate gilt decoration to both the spine and upper cover, this volume was awarded as an English Prize by St. Alban’s High School for Girls in 1901, preserving a period prize presentation label.
Featuring a striking decorative gilt tooling, attractive marbled endpapers, and beautifully marbled page edges. Also present is an Art Nouveau-era Ex Libris bookplate belonging to Constance Cattie Smith, adding another layer of provenance and period character.
