Originally published in 1885, A Child’s Garden of Verses consists of 64 poems written from the perspective of a child, inspired by Stevenson’s own childhood experiences. The collection was dedicated to his childhood nurse, Alison Cunningham, and has remained one of the most influential works of children’s poetry in the English language.
