Rudyard Kipling (1865–1936) was an English writer and poet known for his vivid storytelling and themes of British imperialism. His most famous work, The Jungle Book (1894), is a collection of stories set in the Indian jungle, following Mowgli, a boy raised by wolves, and his encounters with characters like Baloo the bear and Shere Khan the tiger. Its sequel, The Second Jungle Book (1895), continues Mowgli’s adventures while introducing new tales of the wild. Blending adventure, morality, and mythology, both books have remained beloved classics, inspiring numerous adaptations. Kipling’s work earned him the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1907, making him the youngest recipient at the time.
