Accompanied by his newlywed brother and sister-in-law, Southey offers detailed observations on the country’s landscapes, architecture, and culture during this pivotal historical period. The journal provides insights into post-war Europe and reflects Southey’s literary style and perspectives. Although written in 1815, the manuscript was first published in 1902.   

This first edition was designed by Bruce Rogers bound in 1/4 beige cloth over marbled paper covered boards with gilt lettering to the spine. Deckled edges. Binding tight. Clean pages. 274pp.
