Margaret Armstrong (1867–1944) was an American designer and illustrator known for her influential work in book cover design during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Van Dyke's writing often reflects his Christian faith, his love for nature, and his belief in the power of beauty and kindness. He was also a professor of English literature and served as the Minister to the Netherlands and Luxembourg, leaving a legacy not only in literature but also in diplomacy and spirituality.

Navy cloth bindings with decorative floral design. Gilt detail/ lettering to spine with some light rubbing. Gilt top edges. Rough-cut side/bottom edges. Color-plate frontispiece with tissue guard. Tight sound copy, very light rubbing to edges and corners of covers. Pencil name/date inscription to front endpaper. Pages are clean and unmarked. Condition: Very Good ++.
