Tom Brown’s School Days (1857) by Thomas Hughes is a classic Victorian novel set at Rugby School, one of England’s prestigious public schools. The story follows the moral and physical development of Tom Brown as he navigates school life, friendship, and challenges under the mentorship of the real-life headmaster Dr. Thomas Arnold. A blend of adventure, coming-of-age, and social commentary, the novel helped shape the ideal of the English gentleman and left a lasting legacy on school fiction.
