Le Pilote Willis by Adrien Paul | 1865 Complete 2-Volume Set | Illustrated

A beautiful 1865 French edition of Le Pilote Willis (The Pilot Willis), written by Adrien Paul as a continuation of the beloved Swiss Family Robinson. This complete two-volume set, published by Alfred Mame et Fils in Tours, features richly decorated textured green cloth bindings with intricate gilt ornamentation to the spines and covers.

Each volume is illustrated with detailed in-text engravings that vividly capture the story’s adventurous spirit. The narrative follows the Robinson family into new voyages, filled with challenges, survival, and exploration.

Gilt bright. Light rubbing to spine edges/corners. Light spot to lower front board corner to second volume about 3/4” size.

Condition: Very good for age.

Dimensions: 6 3/4’” H x 4 1/4” W (each volume)

A fine example of mid-19th century French decorative publisher’s bindings, perfect for collectors of illustrated adventure literature or elegant French editions.
