A striking 19th-century French volume of Contes à Ma Jeune Famille, bound in richly decorated original cartonnage and illustrated throughout with engraved plates.

The black cloth binding is stamped in elaborate gilt, featuring floral motifs along the spine and an architectural vignette to the front board with green and red accents. The rear board is also decorative, centered with an ornate gilt emblem framed by blind-stamped borders.
