Bound in a striking publisher’s cloth, the cover features an ornate gilt and black-stamped design centered around a classical shield motif—a beautiful example of late 19th-century gift-book binding.

Beveled boards. Blind stamping to back board. Binding tight. Minor edge wear. One page is detached but present. Gilt to all edges. A complete illustrated edition, including a frontispiece portrait of Tennyson and numerous engraved plates throughout, capturing some of his most enduring works such as The Lady of Shalott. Text has decorative red rule borders.
