Alfred Tennyson, born on August 6, 1809, in Somersby, Lincolnshire, England, was a prominent Victorian poet who became one of the most celebrated and enduring voices in English literature. Serving as the Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom for over 40 years, from 1850 until his death in 1892, Tennyson's remarkable poetic career spanned the Victorian era and left an indelible mark on the literary landscape. Renowned for his eloquence, musicality, and profound exploration of themes such as love, nature, mortality, and the human condition, Tennyson crafted a rich body of work that reflects the hopes, anxieties, and complexities of the Victorian age.
