This set of 6 volumes belonged to “Mr. Stevens” who a typed letter was sent to from the Limited Editions Club on August 18th, 1952. In this letter, included with this purchase and seen in a photo, states that since Mr. Robert’s was now a member of the Limited Editions Club and would be receiving the 3 volume set along with the 2-volume set shortly. Since the early Sherlock Holmes set, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, was distributed 2 years prior his membership, the director of The Limited Editions Club states they are sending him The Heritage Press edition so her will have all the Sherlock Holmes stories. This is why this Heritage Press edition is being sold with The Limited Editions Club sets as to keep it all together as they had been with the previous owner.
